When did online gambling start? Anyone know the first book? I didn't get into it till 2002 or there abouts. Was it around in the early 90's?

Used Dial A Bet in the early 90's, also had another, can't for the life of me remember the name though.

Can remember ads for a few late 80's, early 90's, only 2 or 3 were mainstream.

RICH'S SPORTSBOOK in my mind was the first offshore book that became popular............it didn't last.

They threw me out after a month claiming I was betting "shadow moves".

I think Intertops (sp) may have been one of the first.

Pinny was my first in like 2004. I was late to the game though. I sent them a cashiers check for 5k thinking there was no way I would lose betting into -104 and 8 cent bases.

My account was at zero the next day LOL.

Bet Rhino. Scam job from the start.

Oh, that one where you needed an escrow account because it was for high rollers. Can't remember the name of it. But when they closed they paid everybody up.

I was involved at RICH's before 1997........probably around 1995 I'm guessing.

The other big and popular outfit at this time was the infamous ESB.

ESB and RICH's were both right there at the beginning.

Quick question for you guys.

What's the difference between a book that survives and one that doesn't. Is it bad business practice or what?
